              19th century
              Displaying double doors on the upper and
              lower sections carved with beauties and
              sages in an elaborate garden complex
              framed by distant peaks and waterways, the
              scenes enclosed by key-fret borders and all
              set over a single drawer carved en suite, the
              top, side panels and lower apron decorated
              with a dense floral diaper pattern, the lower
              doors opening to reveal paired drawers, gilt
              metal hinges.

              covered box
              18th/19th century
              The cover top engraved with four dragons
              surrounding an oval cartouche, the sides of
              the box and cover banded with rows of key
              frets above an intricately incised wanzi diaper
              pattern, the designs picked out in iron red,
              puce and black on the coffee colored ground,
              the base finished in black lacquer coating and
              the interior surfaces with a rust-brown layer.

              17th/18th century
              Of rectangular form, the cover and sides
              crisply painted in gilt with delicate scenes of
              birds and branches within double line borders,
              all on a brown lacquer ground, with metal
              bail handles and a large lock mechanism, the
              interior fitted with a floating tray, the interior of
              the cover inscribed in gilt with a running script
              calligraphy passage.
