Embroidered with gilt threads with nine
five-clawed dragons clutching or pursuing
flaming pearls amidst clouds and auspicious
emblems above a wide lishui border, all
against a royal blue ground.

The orange brown silk robe with roundels of
dragons and shou character amidst clouds,
with a partial inscriptions to the inside; the
brown silk robe decorated with damask
‘double-dragons’ roundels; the yellow
silk coat with damask roundels depicting
dragons chasing the flaming pearl; the purple
silk coat with damask roundels depicting
narcissus, rockwork and blossoming prunus,
a spider suspended from an overhanging
branch. The orange robe: 153cm (60 1/4in)
high x 200cm (78 3/4in) wide (4).
