北 A QINGBAI ‘LOTUS’ BOX AND COVER 北宋 青白釉蓮紋蓋盒
宋 NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The box and cover are potted with high, rounded sides incised with
青 overlapping lotus petals, and the cover is surmounted by a lotus
白 pod-form fnial incised on the fat top with seeds. The box and
磁 cover are covered inside and out with a pale blue glaze pooling in
the recesses, except for the base and the inner rim of the box burnt
蓮 orange-brown in the fring.
