A GROUP OF FIVE YIXING TEAPOTS
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The group comprises a squat pear-shaped teapot with gilded rims, with an
inscription to the base ending with the characters Meng Chen and a mark to
the cover reading shui ping; a small dark brown speckled melon-form teapot
with lion fnial, impressed with the characters Rong Xiang within a leaf to the
interior of the cover; a greyish-brown teapot incised with prunus branches and
an angular calligraphic inscription; an octagonal teapot moulded with prunus
and birds; and a teapot with stem-form fnial incised with a cursive inscription
and foral spray.
