A PAIR OF BLACK LACQUER AND GILT SQUARE TABLES
19TH CENTURY
Each table is decorated to the top panel with a central blossom and four
large phoenix among scrolling lotus, enclosed by further lotus folliage and
geometrical patterns, supported on four cylindrical legs with open-work gilded
double-ring struts. Each leg is painted with a dragon in pursuit of the faming
pearl.
