An open folio set in front of him contains a minute inscription
PROVENANCE in Nasta’liq script (illegible). Another inscription in gold script
on the dome of the white shrine containing two lines of prayers
Acquired 1990’s and “Mohammad Ahmed Rehmatullah” possibly the name of
the individual commemorated.
A superb depiction of a nobleman wearing a green cape over
green robes sitting with folded knees on a silk mat on a terrace $ 10,000-15,000
before a white marble shrine - silent in prayerful meditation.
His pagri with ear aps down positioned against the chill
weather. He ngers a strand of rosary beads with both hands.
