The fierce manifestation of Shiva with his mouth open showing his tongue
and sharp teeth, with a third eye to the centre of his forehead, his face
surrounded by snakes and his flaming hair, 34cm, 6kg.

A CHINESE POLYCHROME CARVED WOOD HEAD OF GUANYIN
PROBABLY MING DYNASTY
The goddess casts her eyes down and bears a serene expression on her face,
with her hair piled high and set in place with a crown centred by a seated
Buddha, the base with a small hole, 24.5cm.

surrounded by floral and foliate designs, with a handle shaped as a cobra to
one side, the hinged cover surmounted by a knop decorated with stylised

Each formed as the deity with his mouth open revealing his pointed tongue
and sharp teeth, with his large eyes and aquiline nose set beneath arched
eyebrows, with areas detailed with black, white and red colour, each together
with a modern stand, 24.8cm, 1.9kg and 2kg. (4)
