A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE DISH
QIANLONG 1736-95
The centre painted with a large spray of peony, aster, lilies and other flowers,
all surrounded by a complex border of ruyi-head and pomegranate-shaped
panels enclosing floral and foliate designs set against a cell diaper ground,
with details picked out in gilt, 35.5cm.

A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE ARMORIAL TUREEN AND COVER
QIANLONG 1736-95
Brightly decorated in enamels and gilt with sprays of peony and other
flowers, with a dense band of flowers and leaves to the edge of the cover,
painted with armorials depicting a white hound’s head between plumes of
feathers and leaves, the banner reading ‘Toujours Fidelle’, with two animal
head-shaped handles, the cover surmounted by a finial formed as a lion dog,

Painted to the centre in enamels and gilt with the Dutch arms of the
Chastelein family of Leiden and Amsterdam or the French arms of the
Chasteleyn family, the rim decorated with precious objects surrounded by
peony and chrysanthemum blooms, with butterflies and flower sprays in the
style of Cornelis Pronk to the reverse, 23.4cm.

inscribed with the initials D M J, the interior painted with birds perched
amongst trees against a geometric band, 29cm.
