Painted with two large panels enclosing European huntsmen on horseback
with their pack of hounds, with details highlighted in gilt, the scenes divided
by smaller cartouches containing butterflies amidst flowers and rouge-de-fer
landscapes, with a floral spray to the interior, 31cm.

Painted with a sleeping figure dreaming in a landscape, with a further figure
watching from behind a gnarled tree and rocks, the rim decorated with floral
panels set against a band of pale pink and blue diaper, 35.5cm.

The square-section body painted to each facet with a leafy branch of
redcurrants, with a band of stylised foliage encircling the foot, 28.7cm.

Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759) was a Dutch draughtsman and painter who was
employed by the Dutch East India Company from 1734 until around 1740 to
create designs for porcelain. A number of Pronk’s designs, including the decoration
on this vase, were drawn from botanical studies and prints by the Dutch-Swiss
naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717).
