A CARVED BAMBOO BRUSH POT
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The brush pot is carved in relief of different depths with a
continuous scene depicting a New Year celebration, in which two
childern light up firecrackers, while a woman is hanging a couplet
and in conversation with an elderly man, all in a rocky landscape
setting. On the cliff face is carved with a seal, Shi Xian.
