celadon glaze

A JUNYAO BLUE-GLAZED BOWL
JIN – YUAN DYNASTY
with rounded sides rising to a subtly incurved rim, applied
overall with a lavendar-blue glaze thinning to a buff colour at
the rim and pooling around the foot, the glaze stopping above
the splayed foot to reveal the body burnt orange in the firing
18.5 cm, 7¼ in.
The Japanese wood box was inscribed by Ryoichi Fujioka
(1901-1991).
