           A CHINESE BLUE GLAZED ‘HUNDRED BATS’ BOTTLE VASE
           QIANLONG 1736-95
           The pear-shaped body raised on a short foot and surmounted by a tall
           cylindrical neck, decorated in white slip with many bats in flight amidst
           stylised swirling clouds, the base also glazed blue and with an old paper
           label reading ‘760’, 49.5cm.

           Provenance: formerly in the collection of the Acevedo family,
           Buenos Aires.
           Cf. Sotheby’s New York, 19th March 2013, lot 198 for a
           Qianlong celadon-ground yuhuchunping similarly decorated
           with bats and clouds in white slip; see also Sotheby’s London,
           11th May 2011, lot 74 for a blue and white Qianlong bottle
           vase painted with a comparable design.
