A RARE BARREL-SHAPED YIXING STONEWARE TEAPOT AND
COVER
Daoguang, xinchou year, corresponding to 1841 and of the period
The teapot is of barrel shape with a waisted neck and base, and
applied with a ‘C’-scroll handle and a short curved spout. The flat
cover is applied with a link finial, which is pierced with a quatrefoil
opening. The cover is inscribed with a poetic inscription Songfeng
Shuiyue (Pine breeze, water moon), followed by the date and a
signature ‘Lian Pu’. The base is impressed with a collector’s mark Lan
Juan qing pin (For the clear appreciation of Lan Juan).
