‘DRAGON’ BOWLS
Guangxu six-character marks and of the
period
Each incised around the exterior with a pair
of striding five-clawed dragons in mutual
pursuit of flaming pearls, with a ruyi-head 135
border above the foot and foliate border at
the rim, the interior incised with a central
medallion enclosing a phoenix, all beneath
a rich egg-yolk-yellow glaze, the base with
the six-character mark beneath a clear
glaze.
