A LARGE IMITATION BRONZE AND CRACKLE-GLAZED
BALUSTER VASE
18th/19th century
Covered in a tan-hued crackled glaze, with brown ‘imitation bronze’
applied motifs at the foot, shoulder and mouth rim, the waisted neck
flanked with mask handles suspending loose rings, an underglaze blue
band at the shoulder, apocryphal Chenghua seal mark to base.

underneath a short everted mouth rim, the base dressed in brown slip,
all covered in a green-tinged grey glaze with a dark crackle. 32cm (12
