Shisou two-character mark, 19th century
The globular body with cartouches enclosing
floral motifs, on a wan diaper ground, the rim
with two upright loop handles, the fitted lid
with a small Buddha figure finial, wood stand.

Shisou two-character mark, Qing Dynasty
The globular body embellished with two pairs
of confronting dragons vying for the flaming
pearl amongst scrolling clouds, the pierced lid
with a chilong finial, all raised on three cabriole
feet. 20cm (7 7/8in) high (2).

Xuande and Shisou marks, Qing Dynasty
Of bombe form, flanked by dragon mask and
loop handles, the body inlaid in silver with
stylised mythical beasts amongst flames and
waves, the base with an apocryphal cast
Xuande six-character mark and inlaid Shisou
mark. 17.5cm (6.7/8in) wide across the
handles.
