$30,000-50,000
PROVENANCE:
Acquired in Virginia, 1985.
The addition of either silver or gilt to blue and white porcelain is (reverse of one)
very unusual, and the use of both silver and gilt together on the
present pair of dishes gives an even more striking and luxurious
finish. A pair of Yongzheng mark and period petal-lobed cups,
decorated with a silver ground on blue and white porcelain, is
illustrated in Encompassing Precious Beauty, The Songzhutang
Collection of Imperial Chinese Ceramics, Hong Kong, 2016, pp.
122-23, no. 45.
