AN UNUSUAL BLUE AND WHITE DISH WITH FOLIATE RIM
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE IN UNDERGLAZE
BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The dish is decorated on the interior with a fve-clawed dragon and a long-tailed phoenix
amidst stylized clouds, the cavetto and the reverse are similarly decorated with two pairs of
confronting dragon and phoenix.
