A PAIR OF CELADON JADE ‘DRAGON’ HUANG

EARLY TO MID-WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY,

CIRCA MID-11TH-MID-9TH CENTURY BC

Each arc-shaped huang is carved on both sides with a sylised motif that represent the

dragon’s body and legs, that terminates at each end with an abstract dragon head. A small

hole is drilled for suspension to both ends of each jade.
