Inlaid in white slip and black iron oxide,
comprising a larger pear-shaped bottle
vase with floral sprigs; two miniature bottle
vases variously with crane amongst clouds
and floral medallions; and a box for incense
with bird and flower motifs. The largest vase

Edo period (1615-1868)
Enamelled in the typical colours with a
central medallion of two phoenixes on a
rocky outcrop surrounded by giant peonies
and chrysanthemums, the cavetto with
further trailing flowers beneath the double 284
underglaze blue band at the hecta-foil rim.
