AN YIXING DUANNI ‘FOLDED CLOTH’

DARK BROWN CLAY ‘BAMBOO’ TEAPOT

Late Qing Dynasty or later
The first, from duanni clay, modelled as a
folded jute cloth, with medallions reading
‘cha’ on either side, impressed seal mark
reads ‘周玲芳製 Zhoulingfang zhi’ to base
and interior of lid; the second, from brown
clay, with bamboo handle, spout and finial,
and applied bamboo branches, the base and 354
interior of lid also with seal marks.
The bamboo teapot: 18cm (7 1/8in) wide (4).

TWO YIXING TEAPOTS AND COVERS
Qing Dynasty
The first of ‘Wendan’ type, the shoulder
flanked with an inverted ear-form handle
and a short, conical spout, the base with an
inscription reading ‘松竹開三逕 文旦’; the
second, thinly potted with reddish clay, with
an elegant ear-shaped handle and sinuous 355
spout, domed cover and recessed circular
base, the interior of the lid with two small
impressed seals reading ‘萬豐’ and ‘鞠軒’.
The largest: 9cm (2 1/2in) high (4).

TWO YIXING ZISHA TEAPOTS AND
COVERS
Qing Dynasty
The first of compressed pear-shape, with
circular loop handle and s-shaped spout, the
concave base incised junde; the second of
‘hundred fruit’ type, moulded with nuts to the
shoulder and forming the tripod feet, a lotus
root forming the upturned spout and a water 356
caltrop creating the loop handle, the cover a
mushroom.
The largest: 18cm (7 1/8in) wide (4).
