A FAMILLE ROSE-ENAMELLED ‘HAN FANG’ YIXING TEAPOT
AND COVER
Danranzhai studio mark, Qing Dynasty
The dark brown clay potted in a square section with gently tapering
sides and long handle and spout, decorated with a central band of
landscape, bamboo and calligraphy on alternate turquoise and white
grounds, with decorative bands at the foot and mouth, the base
with impressed four-character seal mark, Danranzhai yin, Seal of the
Studio of Calm and Tranquillity, the top of the handle with a further
impressed seal within a double gourd, the cover with loop finial and
floral enamelling. 19.5cm (7 3/4in) high (2).

Of quatrelobed form with bamboo-form handle and finial, stamped
Da Sheng two-character seal mark to cover interior.

WASHER

With a larger washer vessel formed as a stylised ‘Buddha’s Hand’
fragrant fruit, issuing from a leafy branch and flanked with a smaller
fruit-form water dropper with an aperture, Japanese wood box.
