A LARGE OPENWORK HONGMU EXPORT CABINET
19th century
With scrolling lotus and conch-shell spandrel above panelled doors
with further scrolling floral designs and hibiscus astragals, above
two solid panelled doors carved in shallow relief with a meander of
scrolling double grounds, the sides with openwork floral panels, all
above a lappet band at the foot supported by four corner lion feet.

deep.

INSET HONGMU EXPORT TABLE
19th century
The circular top inset with five burgundy leather panels, separated
by curved wood sections inset with mother-of-pearl scrolling lotuses
and gourds, all forming a design of cash, above an openwork apron
carved with bamboo, the sectional base with folding legs above a
separate round base, also with a design of bamboo. 96.5cm (18in)
diam., 85cm (31.5in) high (3).
