TWO MARBLE-INSET HONGMU STOOLS
19th century
Each of barrel shape supported on four
short ruyi-shaped feet, the top inset with a
circular red marble slab, carved with an oval
aperture at the widest part of the bowed leg
and joined by a continuous band of quatrefoil
panels. The tallest: 51.5cm (20 1/5in) high.

Late Qing Dynasty
With square detachable top hiding a square
grid and four deep containers for the game of
Xiangqi, above a beaded apron with a small
604 drawer to each side, all supported by four
corner legs with beaded edges. 84cm (33 in)
high, 92cm (36 1/4) square (2).
