A PAIR OF LARGE EXPORT CRANES
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The tall, slender birds are shown on tree stump bases, and modeled
in mirror image with their heads turned to the side. The crowns
on their heads are picked out in iron red, while their folded wings
are edged in white enamel shading to a deep blue. The black
underfeathers of their wings are detailed in green, as is the plumage
down the backs of their slender necks.
