A WHITE JADE FIGURE OF AN ELEPHANT

The elephant is shown standing foursquare
52 with the head slightly turned and trunk
curled onto the left foreleg towards a boy
standing on one leg while holding a ruyi
scepter. The elephant is draped with a long
saddle cloth elaborately detailed with shou
characters, bats and other archaistic designs.
The well-polished stone is of even white
tone.

A SMALL PALE GREYISH-WHITE JADE
RETICULATED VASE
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The vase of fattened, pear-shaped form,
is carved in openwork with leafy peony
scroll above a lappet border, and the neck is
fanked by a pair of stylized chilong handles.
The stone is of pale greyish-white color
mottled with white opaque inclusions.
