AN ENAMELED ‘LANDSCAPE’ PORCELAIN PLAQUE
Signed Cheng Men (active 1862-1908), Late Qing dynasty
Rectangular and of horizontal orientation, enameled in grisaille and
pastel tones with a figure on a raft in a peaceful lake surrounded by
formidable mountains, an additional figure seated within a humble
hut with a thatched roof, the upper left corner inscribed with a poem
echoing the depicted scene, signed Cheng Men, with two red seal
marks, framed.
