A FINE MING-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE ‘FLORAL SCROLL’ WATER

YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE
AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

The water pot is finely painted with simulated ‘heaping and piling’ effect with a composite
floral scroll beneath a ruyi-cloud collar and above a band of upright lappets. The mouth
rim has a shallow indentation to serve as a spoon rest.
