    A LARGE PAIR OF PAINTED
    ENAMEL CANDLESTICKS

     QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

    Each is formed with a central square drip
    pan set above the baluster-form column,
    rising towards a smaller drip pan around
    the pricket. The candlesticks are variously
    painted with elaborate floral scrolls and
    framed by ruyi-head and key-fret borders,
    all reserved on a light blue ground.
