A VERY RARE PAINTED ENAMEL JARDINIERE AND CHAMPLEVE
STAND
QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK IN RED ENAMEL WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF
THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The circular body is divided into two registers, the top with a horizontal band densely
decorated in vibrant colours with floral sprays, all between pendent and upright stylised
florettes and acanthus leaves, and the lower register similarly enamelled with elaborate
lotus blossoms amongst narcissus, roses and asters. The waisted champlevé stand is
embellished with double lotus petals and florettes.
