A RARE INCISED BRONZE ‘PHOENIX’ BOWL
Tang Dynasty
With deep rounded sides rising to an everted rim,
decorated to the interior with a central medallion
enclosing two long-tailed phoenix with plumage,
each holding a leafy spray in this mouth, surrounded
by five large peony blossoms to the well, fitted box.

AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE RITUAL VESSEL,
FANGDING
Ming/early Qing Dynasty
The rectangular vessel cast with bosses and a band
of archaistic dragons around the exterior, flanges on
the corners and on the sides, set on cylindircal legs,
the everted rim with two upright loop handles, wood
stand, 21cm (8 1/4in) high; the hongmu wood cover
surmounted with a jade finial of egrets and lotus
carved in openwork, with russet inclusions, Yuan
dynasty, 4cm (1 1/2in) high, (3).
