           Intricately worked in floss silk embroidery in a variety of surface satin,   acquired by the family circa 1909 and thence
           long short, laid and couched stitches, the main field with a large central   by descent
           cartouche depicting two confronting dragons pursuing a flaming

           amidst further lotus, the border with with scrolling flowers.    Compare with a closely related silk bed cover, 1550-1570, in the
