skilfully carved with a flat interior surrounded with shallow
rounded sides rising to a grooved rim, the underside carved in
low relief with a soaring bat with outstretched wings, further
highlighted in openwork with a gnarled lingzhi sprig issuing
from the side, the bamboo richly patinated to a warm brown
colour
20.7 cm, 8⅛ in.
