A CHALCEDONY SHADOW AGATE 'BIRDS' BOTTLE
1750-1860
Of rounded rectangular shape, one side utilizing various dark inclusions
and cleverly edited to reveal a hawk with wings raised standing on a
rock above a smaller bird below, the reverse side with various small
swirling abstract inclusions, the sloping shoulders below a cylindrical
neck with convex rim and regular mouth opening, the interior fairly well
hollowed, all supported on a short flat wide oval foot ring and shallow
cut slightly convex base.
