A MOTTLED JADE ELEPHANT PEBBLE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

carved following the form and natural veining of the pebble depicting the
elephant standing foursquare with its lowered head turned to its side, its
trunk curled between sharp tusks and its tail sweeping over its hind haunch,
the white stone with patches of dark green-red skin and russet inclusions
