A BROWN AND WHITE JADE ‘DRAGON AND
CLOUD’ FINIAL
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
finely carved in high relief with a five-clawed dragon writhing amidst dense
clusters of lingzhi clouds issuing upwards from turbulent waves and craggy
rocks at the base, confronting a ‘flaming pearl’, with a young dragon at the
bottom emerging from the waves, the stone of an even white colour with
attractive brown colouration and dark speckles on the back
