A WHITE JADE ‘CHILONG’ SCROLL WEIGHT
QING DYNASTY, QIANLONG PERIOD
of slender rectangular section with rounded corners on one side, carved in
low relief to the top and bottom with simplified archaistic scrolls, the top
surmounted by a high relief chilong, its sinuous body with raised spines
extending the full length of the scroll weight, the stone of an even white
colour with slight russet inclusions
