A WHITE JADE CRANE
QING DYNASTY, 17TH/18TH CENTURY

the recumbent bird with legs tucked beneath its plump body holding a
russet-skinned ruyi spray, the incised wings folded neatly around its back
and the crested head turned sharply over its body holding a leafy fruiting
peach spray in its beak, the stone of pale whitish-celadon colour with a small
area of russet skin
