           The long pod of dark umimatsu with pale patches, carved in relief with   By Seiyodo Tomiaki (born 1746), Iwami Province,
           a long bifurcated stalk, part of the stalk forming the himotoshi;   late 18th/early 19th century
           signed Kyoto Yoshida to (carved by Yoshida of Kyoto).   The pipe case of senryu-zutsu form, with a pronounced wood-grain
           22.3cm (8¾in).                                     effect, a cicada carved on the side in high relief, its legs deeply
                                                              undercut; signed Ishikawa Seiyodo Shi Tomiharu monjin Fune Tomiaki
