FOUR SNUFF BOTTLES
19th-20th century
Comprising an amber bottle carved as a figure holding a lotus branch,
a cinnabar lacquer over metal bottle carved around the side with an
episode from the ‘Romance of the Western Chamber’, an amethyst
bottle carved with a deer, a bat, and auspicious plants, and a smoky
rock crystal bottle of plain rounded rectangular outline.
2 1/4 to 3 1/4in (5.7 to 8.3cm) high (4).

THREE HARDSTONE SNUFF BOTTLES
Consisting of two turquoise bottles, one carved as a leaping carp, the
other carved with two figures and a tree, the third a sodalite miniature 870
bottle carved with a magpie perching on a blooming plum tree within a
reserve on each broad side.
1 3/4 to 2 1/4in (4.5 to 5.7cm) high (3).

FOUR ENAMELED PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES
1821-1950
Including two bottles with the Daoguang four-character mark and of
the period: tone decorated with a similar animal motif on each side
separated by a pair of mock lion mask-and-ring handles, the other
a circular bottle with a raised reserve on each side enclosing the
immortal Liu Hai, two crabs, and leafy flowers; the third a twin-fish
bottle; the fourth in the form of a squirrel and grapes.
