A HUANGHUALI PORTABLE SEDAN CHAIR CHEST, JIAOXIANG
17th/18th century
The rectangular box with an elegant T-shaped profile, opening to
reveal two opposing compartments with doweled covers flanking a
central recessed section fitted with a removable deep rectangular
tray, the well-figured wood fitted with flush huangtong cloud-shaped
corner brackets, circular lock plate and cloud-form hasp.
