A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI ARM CHAIRS
Late Qing/Republic period
Each five-part curved crestrail ruyi medallion enclosing two chilong set
off by foliate meander beaded brackets, the back and front tubular rails
separated by s-shaped vertical posts run into the hard, recessed panel
seat set into the mitred, mortoise and tenoned frame and beaded
apron carved in high relief with a xiangcai meander over stepped
stretchers.
40 3/4in (103.5cm) high; the seat 18 1/2 x 23 1/2in (47 x 59.8cm); the
seat frame 21 1/4in (54cm) high
