ANONYMOUS (EARLY 20TH CENTURY) Twelve woodblock prints, the album with huanghuali covers, some
‘Anthology of Paintings by various masters of the Song dynasty’ leaves and frontispiece with apocryphal Imperial seals; together with
Nineteen leaves, ink and colour on silk and ink and colour on paper, After Qi Baishi (20th century), two woodblock prints. Each leaf: 17.5cm
prints with applied pigment, mounted as an album with rosewood (6 7/8in) x 22cm (8 5/8in)
cover; variously depicting birds and flowers, landscapes, figures and
calligraphy, bearing signatures after famous masters from the Song £2,000 - 3,000
Dynasty and later, including: Xuanhe, Huizong Emperor’s personal CNY17,000 - 26,000 HK$20,000 - 30,000
name; Wang Shouren (1472-1528), also known as Wang Yangming;
Shen Zhou (1427-1509); and Qiu Ying, the fifteenth century artist; and Provenance
with various spurious collectors’ and artists’ seals. The album: 30cm The Property of a Lady, collected in Beijing prior to 1953 and thence by
(11 3/4in) x 34cm (13 1/4in) descent.
