AN EXTREMELY LARGE EMBROIDERED SILK HANGING
Long zhang feng gao four-character mark, Late Qing
Embroidered with bands of Immortals and phoenix amongst trailing
peony stems surrounding a central rectangular panel, the upper frieze
with confronting phoenix, flanking a forward facing dragon, grasping a
flaming pearl, all on a red silk ground within a tasselled blue silk border.

THREE LARGE EMBROIDERED WALL HANGINGS AND A TABLE
FRONTAL
19th/early 20th century
Two of the larger hangings richly woven on violet and yellow silk
grounds with narrative scenes, depicting official gatherings, a battle
scene and mythical characters in pavilion gardens; the third richly
woven in tones of blue and white with butterflies and flowers on red
and green silk grounds; the tasselled frontal with figures at leisurely
pursuits in a garden, on an apricot silk ground.
