A FINE CORAL FIGURAL CARVING
19th century
Modelled as Luxing, one of the ‘Three Star
Gods’, holding a ruyi sceptre and wearing
official’s robes, his left hand stroking his
beard, two bats in flight, carved in relief to
either side, a female attendant standing
behind, holding a fan, decorated with a
confronting dragon and phoenix and five bats
encircling a shou emblem to the reverse,
wood stand, probably zitan, carved with shou
emblems and cloud scrolls, and a further
carved wood stand, fitted box.

FOUR KINGFISHER FEATHER,
HARDSTONE AND CORAL HAIRPINS
19th century
Comprising: two pins with flowerhead
terminals finely inlaid with kingfisher feather; a
pin with an elaborate floral terminal with coral,
kingfisher feather, jade and jadeite elements;
and a small pin with a bat, antiques and floral
motifs with a seed pearl corona.
The largest: 24cm (9 1/2in) (4).
