           A SILK GAUZE BLUE-GROUND ‘DRAGON’ ROBE, JIFU
           19th century
           The blue gauze worked in couched gold thread and counted stitch
           with the prescribed nine five-clawed dragons, two on the front and
           back shown clutching flaming pearls while the others reach for the
           pearl, all amidst ruyi clouds interspersed with the attributes of the Eight
           Daoist Immortals and bats, all set above a terrestrial diagram and lishui
           stripe separated by further clouds and rolling waves, with a similar
           decoration repeated on the border, collar and cuffs.
           159cm (62 1/2in) wide x 144cm (56 6/8in) long.
