George Eumorfopoulos (1863-1939), well-known for his
exceptional art collection, was one of the founders of
the Oriental Ceramic Society in London. His extensive
art-collecting activities led him to expand his Chelsea
home, which he later converted into a museum, to better
accommodate the objects. He commissioned a catalogue of
his collection, which comprised eleven volumes, including six
volumes written by renowned Chinese works of art scholar
R.L.Hobson, The Eumorfopoulos Collection, vol.I-VI, London,
