AND A PAIR OF SQUARE DISHES
17th/18th century
The cups decorated in mirror image with
scholars and their acolytes on a fenced
terrace dotted with pine trees and willows,
the stems decorated with florettes, the bases
and interiors lined in silver, the square dishes
with further scholars and boys on fenced
terraces, their rims also silver-lined.
The cups: 6.8cm (2 3/4in) high (4).

18th/19th century
The upper surface decorated with a
gentleman on horseback galloping across a
bridge over a turbulent river, supported on
a high waist with open work panels, above
a shaped rounded apron and scrolling legs,
the base decorated with a figure brandishing
a sword, astride a dragon amongst crashing
waves and pine. 42.5cm (16.3/4in) high.
