           Decorated to one side with cranes among clouds, the central panel
           with an archaistic inscription, the reverse with Buddhist symbols

           TABLE SCREEN
           Ming Dynasty, 15th/16th century
           Decorated with a gentleman riding a mule flanked by a boy attendant
           carrying a wrapped qin and another figure carrying food vessels, all
           crossing a bridge in a tree-strewn river landscape, the reverse with a
           crane perched on a pine branch amongst bamboo and blossoming
           prunus. 41.5cm (16.3/8in) high.
