Well cast with the head raised upright and the beak open, the
elongated neck covered in overlapping trailing feathers, the wings
forming the cover, well defined to simulate the plumage. 21cm

AN ARCHAISTIC GILT-SPLASHED BRONZE VASE
Early Ming Dynasty
Of oval section, with dish-shaped mouth descending to a slender
neck cast with archaistic wave designs between the paired dragon-
head handles, the rounded sides with bold gilt brushes above a
splayed foot cast with a keyfret band above an archaistic lappet
border, the bronze patinated to a deep, rich hue.
